Pain in the rain in Italy
Brian was part of the travelling support that ventured over to the picturesque ground of Como 1907. Here is his recount of the day and night in question.
As with most of those heading over, it was an early start. Getting up for a flight from Dublin over to Bergamo before a train down. He soon met up with the others that had made the trip to the lakeside town. The weather was holding up and spirits were optimistic at that stage.
He was joined by James Halas, a regular traveller, who is a fan of the pod. The two lads spoke regarding the injury crisis, the task at hand and what the occasion would mean for the Italian club.
That hope before the game was dashed within three minutes. Nico Paz demonstrating his reputation with a superb curling effort past Lammens. The reds looked disjointed, sloppy and unable to get any foothold on the match. Even after 25 minutes, Brian sounded worried and frustrated.

His fears were shown up in the second half. The reds capitulated conceding three goals to leave them with a huge task if they are to progress. A horrible experience for the fans to witness a display like that in the pouring rain.
Worse still was comments from Bruno Fernandes afterwards seemingly blaming Michael Carrick. It appears that everything is falling apart yet again. Where do we go to next?
