Forward joins League One side on loan
Manchester United have announced that Gabriele Biancheri has joined Rotherham United on loan until the end of the season. He joins former red, Dan Gore, at the South Yorkshire club.
The 19-year-old signed for us from the academy at Cardiff City in 2023 where he had been since the age of seven. He became a regular for the under-18 and 21’s side last season with 15 goals to his name. This included a hat-trick in the run to the Semi-Finals of the FA Youth Cup.
His form attracted attention from clubs across Europe. Real Betis had offered a fee to sign him on a permanent basis, but Utd have decided to keep him on their books. Biancheri also felt that gaining some experience in the EFL would be better for him.
He spoke with the club site on the news: “I spoke with the manager and he laid out his vision for the club and I am really excited to get going now.”
“I felt that I need the next challenge and to step up, put myself into uncomfortable positions and hopefully I’ll be a better player as a result. I am hoping to be helpful to the club in any way possible.”
He is expected to be involved in the squad for their game with his former side, Cardiff City, at the weekend.
We wish him all the best for the rest of the season!
