John Fitz returned from Old Trafford to join Dale to discuss the up and down 4-4 draw with Bournemouth. The reds went in front, were pegged back, ahead at half time, behind not long into the second-half, ahead with less than ten minutes to go and then gave away an equaliser. And almost lost it at the end. Not a game for those with delicate hearts or money on the result.
John was naturally tired and disappointed in the circumstances. Ruben elected to switch up his tactics but possibly not at the wrong time when we are losing wide players to AFCON. The first half display impressed a lot, but how slack they were in the second was a depressingly familiar performance. Is that down to personnel or overall confidence?

On social media, the big talking point was the t-shirt worn by a failed Love Island contestent. Jordan Kobbie-Hames showed his ‘support’ with a “Free Kobee Mainoo” top. This put the spotlight even more on the young midfielder and reaction has been divided on the matter. The reaction to Mainoo coming off the bench from the supporters was fantastic on Monday. The lads have their view on it. And they don’t hold back.
Bruno Fernandes gave an open interview on Canal Plus in Portugal which was conducted back in November. He stated that the club wanted to sell him during the summer to a Saudi and that ultimately it was down to a talk with Amorim and his own commitment to the club that kept him with us. Definitely not what supporters wanted to hear given his importance to the club.

Finally, the lads look ahead to a tough encounter away to an inform Aston Villa side with us missing a number of players. Happy Christmas and remember that Santa is a red…..
