Big Ben strikes again!
Pre-match and post-match predictions and reactions from our man on the ground Mr. John Fitzgibbon. The pride of Leeside was at Old Trafford on Sunday as the reds faced into a potentially tricky encounter against Crystal Palace.
He then joined Dale on the mic as the two lads went over the match in question. Brian was absent due to a loss in the family so we all send our condolences to him. It was a poor start to the encounter and Leny Yoro was left wanting early on. He did not track his marker properly and we were a goal down within four minutes. This began a half in which the side was unusually flat.
The game turned on an incident in the second half where Palace conceded a penalty and had a player sent off. It was the piece of luck that the side needed. Bruno slammed home the penalty and then set up Sesko for the winner. Our captain was deservedly the man of the match for his display.
It shows the value of the attacking options that we currently have in the squad. It might not be possible to have all four on the pitch together at the same time but being able to call on one of them when we need it is crucial.
The lads finish off with a tough journey to Newcastle on Wednesday night. They point out that the side needs to be switched on to get anything out of St. James Park and hopefully some bodies back in time.
