Champions League ahoy as Utd make it a Liverpool double
Brian is back to join John as they go over the recent victory over Liverpool. It was the three points that allowed us qualification to the Champions League. And our first double over them in ten years.
It appeared from the opening 15 minutes that it could be one of those games. Liverpool were lacking personnel and confidence in that period. Matheus Cunha took advantage of a poor clearance to give us the lead after five minutes. It was doubled when Sesko fired home from close range. Heads were of course melted when the ball grazed off his fingers. It was getting on Marradona in ’86 level hysteria.

It all seemed to be going to plan to dish them out a battering. Alas no. Amad Diallo played a loose pass and Dominik Szoboszlai ran through and scored. And then Senne Lammens played a howler by passing straight to a Liverpool player to let them equalise.
Step up Kobbie Mainoo. The local lad who had just signed a new contract slammed home the winner in front of the Stretford End. Not bad at all.
The lads address the impending departure of Casemiro and what the impact might be. Midfield is the key area of the pitch to be focused on during the summer. It just depends on who is available and what money can be spent.
But that depends on who is going to be in charge next season. The results have been great since he came in, and he has delivered on what he set out to do. But it depends on what the goals of the board is and who else is out there. The added pressure of Europe, and cup competitions, will pose a major challenge. No Utd fan would begrudge him getting the job though.
Finally, the lads take a look ahead to the away match at Sunderland.
Up the Fu**ing European Reds!
