Episode 278: Cheats, Charlatans, and Carrick

So Man City are a bunch of frauds…..who knew

Brian, John, and Dale are on the mic to discuss the latest goings on in the world of Manchester United. Its been a depressing run of form with six games without a win. But more on that later.

C’mere sham

The topic on everyone’s lips is concerning the guilty verdict judged on our City neighbours. The terms sham was used more often in the statement than a Cork city pub conversation. They have been accused of increasing their budget by nearly 900 M via fake sponsorship. Ghost firms set up to disguise the owners putting more money into the club than was permitted.

This has naturally caused a schism in the footballing community. Fans of the club have stood behind their owners like a battered housewife. They believe that the owners have a mythical piece of evidence to clear them completely. Instead, the banana waving simpletons refuse to accept the truth. Opposition fans have been disgusted with many calling for them to face massive sanctions.

Utd have long known that the situation was extremely suspect. Only a select few in the media were willing to challenge the case whilst many chose to ignore it. The lads are understandably irate how the situation was allowed to carry on as long as it has.

Taking the Michael

Unfortunately, they then had to discuss our particular failings against Spurs. A thoroughly abject and disjointed showing that had fans longing for another international break. We somehow managed to get in front before the visitors went down to ten men. Even then, we couldn’t hold on and conceded a sloppy goal in the last minute. It bore horrible resemblance to the final games of previous managers unfortunately.

And the fixtures look extremely daunting on paper. Trips to the cauldrons of Atletico Madrid and Leeds United. Both horrible teams to play against the best of times. Virtually impossible with a team looking as downbeat as they were. None of us want to see a club legend go through this, but the feeling seem all too familiar and inevitable. Sigh…..

‘If I hadn’t seen such riches….”
