Carrick’s at the wheel….
This managerial lark seems to be a piece of cake as Michael Carrick made it two wins in two. John Fitzgibbon was just back from London and he joined Dale and Brian to discuss the unexpected win at The Emirates.
The interim boss had named an unchanged side from the win in the derby. It was expected to be a task too far by many in the media pre-match. That was reflected in the fact that the home side controlled affairs for the opening half an hour. Typically a dirty, scrappy goal from a set-piece gave them the lead, and all our hearts sank.
This side appears, at least in these few games, to have something of the old spirit of great Manchester United teams in the past. Willing to pull their sleeves up and fight, keep on playing forward looking football, and able to produce moments of quality. Bryan Mbeumo seized on a loose pass to equalise before half time.

The momentum had shifted in our favour and Georgie Dorgu put us in front with a superb drive despite Arsenal players desperate to prove that he had handled the ball. We looked more likely to add a third but again a goalmouth scramble got them level. Step up Matheus Cunha to soften their cough with classy finish from over 30 yards.

Finally the lads look towards a potentially tricky game with a Fulham side who have given us strife in the past. We have to be clued in from the very start if we are to keep up the good form.
