Episode 264: Reds take 1-0 scrappy win over Everton

Our Solksjaeresque Slovenian sub strikes superbly!

Dale and John were back on the mic again to discuss all issues Manchester United. All three were having good clean fun up in Galway for the latter’s stag party (future congrats btw!) and were still a little tired.

The big part of this was a debut visit to The Hill Dickenson Stadium to face Everton on Monday night. The first half was a sluggish and scrappy affair with neither side really willing to take a risk. We had a long layoff since the previous game against West Ham and the hosts have struggled at their new home. Didn’t make for a great view.

The matchwinner again came off the bench to score the crucial goal in the second-half. Questions remain whether he should be starting in these games given his recent form. The lads debate this point on the competition for places and performances of others. His positive attitude and willingness to work hard cannot be disputed though. Certainly compared to previous strikers.

It was something akin to WWE for the rest of game as the home side bombarded our area on set-pieces. It says something of the resilience of Senne Lammens that he was able to withstand that assault. John stated that we would have lost that under our keepers last season.

The lads look towards the visit of Crystal Palace at the weekend. Possible changes, the future of Oliver Glasner and predictions are made.
