Defender leaves to join Swiss club
Manchester United have confirmed that Tyler Fredricson has joined Lausanne Sport on a permanent basis.
There is no mention of a fee involved with the move. United have built in a high-percentage sell on clause and a buy-back option for the future.
The 21-year-old had been at United since 2015 and had represented every grade from under-9 upwards. He played every round in the 2022 FA Youth Cup to the final. He only missed that due to illness. His progression saw him involved with first team training. He featured on the bench for the Europa League against Real Sociedad in 2022.
An injury set him back a few months and it took him a while to get back on his feet. He was recalled to the first team for the loss to Tottenham in 2025. He made his debut against Wolves in April of that year in a losing effort. He went on to make four appearances for the senior team. His last was the shock defeat to Grimsby Town. A ventured move to Celtic was called off in January due to an injury.
Lausanne Sport finished ninth last season and are looking for better fortunes this time out. They are part of the INEOS group and recently signed Sekou Kone on loan.
He spoke on Instagram on the news: “After 11 years it’s my time to say goodbye to Manchester United. I want to thank every coach, player, staff member and the incredible fans for supporting me throughout my journey.
“Wearing this badge and representing this club has been a dream come true and will always be something I am very proud of. Thank you for everything. Once a red. Always a red.”
He has signed a three year deal with the contract subject to registration.
We wish him all the very best.
