Keeper departs on loan
Manchester United have confirmed that Elyh Harrison has joined Scottish Championship side Greenock Morton.
He has joined them for the duration of the 2026/27 season. It comes shortly after the signing of Kit Margetson.
The 20-year-old goalkeeper joined the reds in 2022 and quickly established himself in the academy sides. He was a key member of the team who won the Premier League North and Premier League Cup in 2023/24. He won the reserve team player of the year that season. He also featured on the bench on a few occasions for the first team.
This will be his third spell away seeking first team football. His first loan spell was with National League North outfit Chester for about 5 months in the 2024/25 season. He played 18 league games and kept seven clean sheets. Last season he joined League Two side Shrewsbury Town. He was limited to just six appearances though with one clean sheet.
Morton start their campaign this weekend with a home game against Patrick Thistle. They had a tough season last year but eventually finished eight. They will be hoping for more of a positive season this time around.
Harrison spoke on the news to the Morton website: “I think at this stage in my career, I need to play games and experience senior football. I have heard a lot of good things about playing in Scotland and looking forward to it”
Everyone has been very welcoming in the dressing-room. I could not ask much more from them. Training has been good as well. I can’t wait to get out and see the fans on Saturday”
The deal is dependent on registration being cleared in time.
Good luck to him!
