Youngster joins from Swansea

Manchester United have announced the signing of Kit Margetson from Swansea City. He becomes the second goalkeeper to sign this summer after the arrival of Karl Darlow.

He rejected the offer of a new deal from the Welsh club at the end of last season. They are entitled to a compensation fee though due to their part in his development.

The 20-year-old has represented Swansea since under-15 level and has featured in all their underage sides. He had yet to make a senior first-team appearance before departing. He spent last season out on loan to Cymru Premier League team Connah’s Quay Nomads. He played 31 times and kept eight clean sheets as they qualified for Europe.

He has also featured for the Welsh underage squads up to under-21 level. He is expected to provide competition in the Manchester United under-21 squad.

The club have not specified the length of the contract.

Welcome aboard!
