Midfielder joins Swiss side for 2027 season
Lausanne have announced that Manchester United’s Sekou Kone has joined the club on loan for the forthcoming 2026-27 season.
The defensive midfielder rejoins the Swiss club having joined on loan initially in January. He had already been training with them ahead of the new season.
The 20-year-old Malian underage international joined the reds in 2024. This was on the back of an impressive showing at the under-17 World Cup in 2023. A number of clubs were interested in his signing, before joining us. His time has been hampered by injuries though. A fractured eye socket in a National League Cup game had him on the sidelines for much of the season.
He joined Lausanne to get more playing time along with Enzo Kana-Biyik. Unfortunately his time at the club was interrupted by further injuries. He only ended making five appearances as the team struggled for consistency.
All the very best to him for the season ahead.
