Action has been light on our side in the past few weeks, due to cup action. Our win over Everton was the first in almost two weeks. Other reds players have been busier though. Here is an update on how they got on.
Europe
Here is where some of the higher profile stars that are seeking paths elsewhere.
Marcus Rashford was back in the starting eleven after a recent knee injury as Barcelona kept up their title challenge. They won 1-0 at Athletic Club. In his 62 minutes on the pitch, he had one shot saved and created two chances. They remain clear of Real Madrid.
Rasmus Hojlund played almost the full 90 as Napoli beat Torino 2-1 at home. It keeps them in the chase for Champions League football next season. He had three efforts on goal with one on target. He also created three chances in the game.

Andre Onana’s Trapzonspor side stayed third in the standings as they beat struggling Keyserispor away from home. He conceded a goal late on but his side were already 3-0 up at that time.
Lausanne won their first game in eight matches as they clinched a last minute winner away to FC Zurich. Both Sekou Kone and Enzo Kana-Biyik came off the bench in the last quarter of the game. The former had a single effort off target whilst the latter forced a save from the home keeper. They also both featured as they won at another Zurich club, Grasshoppers on this occasion, on Sunday. They overcame an early deficit to win 3-2. Kone had a shot saved in his time on the pitch.
Premier League
Jadon Sancho came off the bench yet again as Aston Villa dropped even more points. He failed to achieve any shots on target or assists in his 27 minutes on the pitch. Villa have now seen their advantage swallowed up by ourselves and now Chelsea. The Londoners came away with a 4-1 win from Villa Park. Former Utd winger Alejandro Garnacho provided a rare assist for Joao Pedro’s hat-trick goal.
SPL
Jacob Devaney came off the bench as St. Mirren beat First Division Patrick Thistle to reach the Scottish Cup Semi-Finals. They will be facing Celtic who they beat in the Scottish League Cup Final.
Ethan Williams came off the bench in the final minute as Falkirk held on to progress to the Scottish Cup Semi-Finals. They beat Dundee United 2-1 at home. They will be taking on Dunfermline.
EFL
Harry Amass remains out injured at Norwich City. He has returned to Old Trafford for checks on his hamstring damage.
Radek Vitek’s Bristol City slipped to yet another loss at home. Leaders Coventry City came away with 2-0. He probably should have done better with the header that gave the visitors the lead in the first half.
Toby Collyer came off the bench for Hull City as they went down late on to automatic promotion chasing Millwall. It was his first appearance in five games following an injury hit spell.
Ethan Wheatley started up front for Bradford City. He had a busy display for the home side as they beat Leyton Orient to stay in the playoff picture. He had three shots on goal with one on target. He also created a chance for Tyriek Wright.

Gabriele Biancheri came off the bench as Rotherham United slipped to another damaging loss to local rivals Huddersfield Town. He only came on in the 86th minute so did not have sufficient time to make any kind of impact. Dan Gore was not in the matchday squad.
James Scanlon was not in the matchday squad as Swindon Town conceded a last minute equaliser away to Crawley. They fall further behind the automatic promotion places.
Ethan Ennis played the full 90 as Fleetwood snatched a last minute equaliser away to Gillingham. He had one shot on goal and created two chances in the game.
It is clear to see that some are performing better than others at the moment.
