A look at how the on-loan reds have been getting on

The leagues across Britain and Europe are up and running. Here is a look at how they got on.

Europe

Celta Vigo lost their Europa League opening game away to Omonoia in Nicosia. They looked to have at least claimed a point against a side content to sit deep. A goal in the 88th minute cost them though.

They turned things around when facing Racing Santander though. Leading two nil at the break, they scored a further three to claim their first win of the season. Altay Bayinder did not feature in either games.

Andre Onana‘s Trabzonspor turned form upside down in hammering leaders Galatasary. Mohamed Salah was the catalyst behind it with a hat-trick. It moves them up into fifth ahead of the international break. Onana claimed his second clean sheet in three games. They must try and gain a better level of consistency though.

Lausanne Sport had a tough afternoon at home to FC Lugano on Sunday. The league leaders were ahead at half time in an evenly fought game at the time. They conceded twice in the space of ten minutes after the break to have the game get away from them. It eventually finished 4-0 to leave them in the lower reaches of the table. Sekou Kone received a straight red card a minute after conceding the second goal to make it worse.

EFL

Ethan Wheatley was left out of the matchday squad as Lincoln City beat Bristol City during the week. They were not able to keep up their recent form when losing at home to Swansea City. They had gone ahead in the encounter in the first half. The championship leaders came back to claim the three points though. Wheatly was on the bench for this.

It was frustration for Dan Gore as Luton Town lost at home to Braford City. The midfielder played 75 minutes as the Hatters tried to reverse an early goal from the visitors. He had a decent passing record but was unable to contribute in an attacking sense.

Rotherham United won away at Northampton Town. A penalty in the final quarter proved to be the difference to give them their first away win of the season. The Millers moved up into midtable with the win. Jayce Fitzgerald was on the bench but did not feature.

Scottish League

Jacob Devaney played the full game as Hibernian lost to Kilmarnock at home. The visitors who had not won a game until this, dominated proceedings and struck just before half-time for the winner. It marked the final game in charge by David Gray who left the club the next day. Devaney struggled like most of his team-mates.

They recovered to claim a draw against Aberdeen at the weekend. The only concession of a goal threatened to consign them to a seventh straight home loss. A penalty on the hour ensured that they at least came away with a point. Devaney was on the bench, but did not feature.

Dundee moved up to fourth with a hard fought win over Motherwell. Two goals in the opening 40 minutes proved to be the difference. Jack Moorhouse had a big part of helping them towards that win. He had one effort saved, created another chance and a strong passing record in his hour on the pitch.

Greenock Morton slipped to yet another defeat against Dunfermline Athletic. A goal just after the hour proved to the difference. Elyh Harrison was back in the side but unable to claim a clean sheet.

Non League

Southport were in FA Cup second qualifying round action today. Goals in the second half from Morcambe ensured an early exit though. Honor Soloman was not involved in the matchday squad.
