Europe

Here is where some of the higher profile stars that are seeking paths elsewhere.

Marcus Rashford started on the bench for Barcelona on Wednesday. He failed to have much of an impact in his 15 minutes on the pitch. The Catalans overcame Celta Vigo 1-0 to keep their lead at the top. He had more of an impact against Getafe on Saturday. He came off the bench and finished off a counter attack to seal the win.

Rasmus Hojlund’s Napoli got back on track with a 4-0 win over Cremonese. He did not feature among the scorers though. He had four efforts in the game which were all off target.

Andre Onana’s Trapzonspor side failed to take advantage of dropped points ahead of them. They lost 2-1 to midtable Konyaspor. They stay third in the table.

Lausanne claimed an important 3-0 win against Zurich in the first relegation round. Neither Enzo Kana-Biyik nor Sekou Kone were involved.

Premier League

Jadon Sancho again started on the bench in Villa’s loss to Fulham on Sunday. He had very little impact on the game though in his 16 minutes on the field. Their form remains inconsistent, but they still look on course to finish in the top five.

SPL

Jacob Devaney saw his St. Mirren side slip to a surprise home defeat to bottom-side Livingston. He had a solid display individually with a high passing and tackling rate. They were unable to break down their visitors and remain just above the relegation spots.

Ethan Williams did not feature in Falkirk’s 3-1 loss at Celtic Park.

EFL

Harry Amass remains out injured at Norwich City. He has returned to Old Trafford for checks on his hamstring damage.

Radek Vitek’s Bristol City claimed a decent point as they drew away to Southampton. The guests went ahead twice before the FA Cup semi-finalists grabbed an equaliser. Some fine saves from the goalkeeper helped them claim the result. He was unable to avoid defeat at Birmingham City on Saturday however. They look certain to finish in mid-table.

Toby Collyer was again left out of the matchday squad as Hull City drew with Leicester City. The result proved to be no good for either side. The former Premier League champions were relegated whilst the visitors dropped out of the play-off spots. He was also missing from their 2-1 loss at Charlton Athletic. That helped keep the home side up.

Ethan Wheatley was absent as Bradford City drew with play-off chasers Plymouth Argyle. They are still just about hanging on for their spot as it stands. He was on the bench against Bolton Wanderers on Saturday. The point in a 1-1 draw almost secures them a play-off spot.

Dan Gore started in Rotherham’s loss at home to play-off chasing Luton Town. He had an effort off target and set up a chance as well. Gabriele Biancheri was on the bench, but did not feature. Gore did have a more involved game on Saturday against Reading. He set up the opening goal with an excellent pass and helped create two other chances.

James Scanlon started on the bench as Swindon took on Grimsby Town. It was a chastening experience for the away side as they lost 4-0. This now leaves them out the play-off spots for the first time.

Ethan Ennis played the full game as Fleetwood drew away to Shrewsbury Town. He was to the fore as the away side found themselves 2-0 in front. His shot came off the post and rebounded off a home defender. His cross also set up the second. They were denied a win in the final minute though.
